Standing Cloud - sponsor interview

What does your company do and how do you work with Drupal?
Standing Cloud is a platform as a service that gives users the ability to instantly provision more than 90 applications (including Drupal, OpenAtrium, OpenPublish and OpenPublic) and 5 language platforms on a variety of cloud providers. Standing Cloud’s provides an environment for application deployment, development, management and hosting. As well, we offer 24x7 monitoring, up to hourly backups, redundancy and cross-cloud portability. Standing Cloud’s website is built in Drupal and we offer instant deployments of Drupal, OpenAtrium, OpenPublish and OpenPublic on more than a dozen cloud providers.

How did you first get involved in Drupal?
Shortly after deciding to build our site in Drupal, we went to DrupalCon in Chicago. Our UI/UX architect spent time building her skill set, while I was there to learn about whether our platform and application offerings met the needs of the community. We had an amazing time and met a number of wonderful Drupal community members. Drupal is by far one of the most helpful and kind communities in open source software. We’re thrilled with Drupal as our CMS system at Standing Cloud and we love working with the community to ensure that we’re building a product that is useful and valuable for Drupal users. Needless to say, we drank the Drupal Kool-aid!

What type of work and/or websites do you specialize in?
Standing Cloud specializes in cloud based application and platform deployment and hosting. We help application developers and customizers leverage the cloud, essentially eliminating the system administration function so that they can spend more time on development.

What are you most looking forward to at DrupalCamp Colorado this year?
This is our first DrupalCamp, and we’ve heard that the event is meant to resemble what DrupalCon used to be prior to growing to 3000 attendees. We’re looking forward to building deeper relationships with members of the Drupal community, as well as learning more about the ‘local’ Drupal scene.
